19, 2001 The Second Annual Suffolk County Challenge Basketball Doubleheader and the Second Annual Coaches Vs. Cancer – Nassau Vs. Suffolk Challenge Basketball Game will be hosted by the Suffolk County Boys Basketball Association (SCBCA). The Second Annual
Suffolk County Challenge Basketball Doubleheader will be sponsored by
the Police Athletic League (P.A.L). The
American Cancer Society (ACS) will receive a portion of the proceeds
raised at the event. The
event will feature some of the top high school boys’ basketball players
in Suffolk County. The
doubleheader will take place at Saint Joseph’s College in Patchogue on
Tuesday, September 25, 2001. The
first game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the second game will begin at 8:45
p.m. There is a $5.00
donation fee for the event. The Second Annual Coaches vs. Cancer – Nassau vs. Suffolk Challenge Basketball Game will be sponsored by the American Cancer Society and they will receive the money raised at the event. The event will feature most of the top high school players from Long Island. The charity event will take place at the Hofstra Arena at Hofstra University in Hempstead on Tuesday, October 2, 2001. The game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. There is a $5.00 donation for the event. Coaches vs. Cancer is a partnership dedicated to reducing the risk of cancer in youth, using fan contributions to assist the research, patient & family services, advocacy and education programs of the American Cancer Society.
