
Senior Advocate Appointed

Richard Herzbach, Partner in the Condominium and Cooperative Law Department at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP, has been named to the Board of FANS (Friends Assisting Nassau Seniors). FANS is a not-for-profit organization established in 1992 to raise funds for programs that improve the quality of life for senior citizens in Nassau County. FANS works in cooperation with the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs.
Formerly, as an Assistant Attorney General of the State of New York, Mr. Herzbach served in the Real Estate Finance Bureau. One of the highlights of Mr. Herzbach's career in private practice is his preparation of the first condominium offering plan in the State of New York to be accepted by the Attorney General under that office's certification procedures.
Chairman of the Homeowners Association Subcommittee of the New York State Bar Association's Real Property Law Section Committee on Condominiums and Cooperatives, Mr. Herzbach also serves on the Bar Association's Liaison Committee with the Attorney General of the State of New York and was appointed to the New York State Attorney General's Task Force to revise the Condominium Act of the State of New York. He is also a member of both the Law Committee of the Associated Builders of New York and the Board of Directors of the Long Island Chapter of the International Association of the Corporate Real Estate Executives (NACORE).
Mr. Herzbach earned his Juris Doctorate at Hofstra University Law School where he is now an Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching a course in condominium and cooperative law. He is admitted to practice in the state of New York; and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York. Last year the American Cancer Society recognized him as their Man of the Year.
