Lawlor Elected New Chair of Nassau- Suffolk Hospital Council

CEO of Huntington Hospital Starts Two Year Term

HAUPPAUGE, NY -- Huntington Hospital CEO Kevin  Lawlor was named Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council (NSHC), the association that represents Long Island’s 24 not-for-profit and public hospitals.

 

     Lawlor, a resident of Northport, NY,  has an extensive background in health care financing.  Prior to being named CEO at Huntington Hospital, he served the facility as its chief financial officer for 16 years.  Lawlor also held financial management positions at Community Hospital of Western Suffolk, Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, and the Episcopal Health System.

 

     He is a fellow and former president of the New York Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, has served on the Executive and Finance Committees of the NSHC, and also served on the Healthcare Association of New York State’s Committee on Finance.

 

 Lawlor's two-year term expires June 2010.  He was elected by the CEOs from each of the member hospitals who comprise the NSHC's Board of Directors.
