The Equiaid Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing children in crisis with the opportunity to experience the restorative benefits of riding through a supportive community. The program focuses on those children and youth living in New York City communities who are affected by life threatening diseases such as AIDS or cancer and those whose lives have been touched by the loss of a sibling or parent as a result of illness, sudden death, or tragedy. The children who participate in the program come from a growing network of organizations throughout New York City that are dedicated to helping children.
Partnering organizations which will benefit from The Equiaid Project’s outing at Cablevision Kids Day include Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Pediatrics Program, St. Luke’s Roosevelt Pediatric AIDS Program, Housing Work and Children’s Hope Foundation.
The Equiaid Project will bring roughly 30 children, plus parents and chaperones, to participate in all the offerings of Kids Day as well as enjoy a special tour of the grounds and activities.
