Smithtown Chamber of Commerce to Host

15th Annual Festival Day Sunday June 8

The Officers and the Board of the Directors and the over 300 paid members of the Greater Smithtown Chamber of Commerce, would like to welcome everyone to The Smithtown Chamber of Commerce 15th  Annual Festival Day being held Sunday, June 08, 2003 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 P.M., rain or shine. We have arranged to have Main Street (Rte. 25/25A) closed to traffic from Route 111 west to Maple Ave., (from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) so that everyone can stroll the Festival freely and safely.

Vendors will be selling all kind of merchandise (just in time for getting a gift before Father’s Day or a  graduation) and important information will be provided by Community Service groups. Get a massage; get information about how to stay healthy; to invest your money, or about insurance or banking. Meet many of our local politician’s.

There are all kinds of activities for the kids: Pony Rides in Daffy's parking lot, face painting, free balloons and lots of goodies. Giant inflatable rides will be on the street between Bank and Main. At the Rotary Table, identification photo’s will be taken. Thanks to the Smithtown Aquarium, there will be water troughs for our 4 legged friends on many of the street corners.

There will be so many different good things to eat at different food trucks up and down Main Street and booths along Main Street. Also, many of our town’s wonderful restaurants will have tables and chairs in front of their own stores as well.

Free entertainment begins at 11:00 A.M. with the Ann Mercedes Dance Studio and then nonstop from 12:00 noon until 5:00 P.M. when the cast of Grease will perform on the stage in front of the Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts at Bank and Main.  The Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle Church will be putting on puppet shows at the Chase Park.  There will be Karate and Tae Kwon Do demonstrations.  Be sure to see the award winning Robotic’s team from Smithtown High School in front of the just opposite Elm Street

Be sure to stop by the Smithtown Chamber of Commerce booth at the Northwest Corner of Bank and Main and take a chance on raffle prizes donated by our Chamber Members with a drawing every hour on the hour from noon to 4:00 P.M.  Some of the raffle prizes include; free dinners; haircuts, free subscriptions, and many other gift certificates good at local merchants and restaurants.

B-103 FM will be on hand from the Festival  in front of the Chamber of Commerce booth on the corner of Bank and Main Street. WALK Radio (97.5 FM) and WLIE (540 AM) will also be here. At the West end of Main Street be sure to stop by  the corner of Miller and see the Emergency SPCA van and the United State Marines Hummer vehicles.  At the East End of Main action also continues across Rte. 111 where the Smithtown Historical Society will have its 3rd annual farm machinery and old cars show. Stop by the booth for the Smithtown Library near Singer Lane to buy some good books.

There is something for everyone. So come on down, visit, shop and have fun at the 15th Annual SMITHTOWN FESTIVAL DAY on SUNDAY, JUNE 8.
