Auditions for the North Shore Symphony Orchestra

      PLAINVIEW, NY -    The North Shore Symphony Orchestra (NSSO) has announced openings for strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion for the 2007-2008 concert season.

Auditions for new orchestral members will be held on Thursday, September 20 at Old Bethpage JFK High School located at 50 Kennedy Drive in Plainview.  To schedule an audition, call 516- 299-2512 or e-mail the NSSO at postmaster@northshoresymphonyorch.org.

The North Shore Symphony Orchestra, now in its 47th season, is one of Long Island's largest community orchestras.  Over 70 members of the North Shore Symphony Orchestra rehearse weekly on Thursday evenings from 8pm to 10:30 pm with Music Director & Conductor Susan Deaver. 

Each year NSSO presents a series of four concerts at Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School in Plainview.  The first concert of its 47th season on Saturday, November 17 at 8 pm will present music to celebrate the anniversaries of composers Glinka, Grieg and feature Elgar's Enigma Variations.  NSSO will present three additional concerts ­ a family concert on Sunday, March 9, a concert featuring Beethovenšs Symphony No. 6 "Pastorale" on Saturday, May 10, and a final concert on Saturday, June 7 that will focus on American composers.
